Irritable Bowel Syndrome May be Caused Due to Intestinal Parasites

Most of the practicing doctors’ report that a majority of their female patients suffer from diarrhea, constipation, increased gas, fatigue and bloating after eating. It is in fact very common among women as compared to men. Due to this reason many women suffer from heartburn, migraine or fibromyalgia and few women may also have disturbed menstrual cycle.

Normally general practitioners refer such cases to any gastroenterologists when they find above symptoms in their patients, which is diagnosed as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and suitable diet changes are recommended to such patients. The patients must increase fiber content in their diet and use Metamucil.

Quite a few patients do not get any results from such diet change. Though this is not technically considered to be a serious disease, if someone suffers from such issue then not only the person remains uncomfortable, but sometimes it becomes really very irritating.

If such condition persists for a very long period then it may lead to many different health complications. This may also lead to intestinal parasites in humans and therefore if a patient ever complains about IBS then they must be diagnosed for intestinal parasites.

Usually it is caused due to intake of wrong type of food or due to food poisoning. Also, if the movement between stomach to intestine and further to colon is not smooth enough then bacteria accumulates in the intestine and is multiplied.

The role of gastrointestinal system is to convert the food that you take into necessary nutrients, which is absorbed by the body for their growth. When we chew our food then it is broken down and gets mixed with the saliva. Salivary enzymes will breakdown the food into useful form for digesting the fat contents.

Stomach will churn the food and break them up, which is then exposed to the molecules of hydrochloric acid and juices from pancreas. Gastrointestinal tract size is like football, which is filled with both friendly and hostile bacteria. Therefore, intestinal tract has a major role to play in absorption of nutrients and if there is any problem then it can affect overall function of our body and our health is also affected.

Therefore, it is necessary that bacteria may not be allowed to grow in the intestine and there should be healthy movement in the path from stomach to intestine and finally to colon. Following are the signs of intestinal parasite growth:

  • Burning, bloating, belching after taking meals
  • Complete fullness after eating
  • Constipation, diarrhea or indigestion
  • After eating a systematic reaction
  • Nausea after taking any supplements
  • Weak or cracked fingernails
  • Rectal itching
  • Acne or other skin irritation
  • Iron deficiency
  • Chronic infection in intestine
  • Undigested food in the stool
  • Greasy stool
  • Fatigue
  • Easy bruisability
  • Absence of menstruation
  • Chronic vaginal irritation
  • Chronic yeast infection

Many people may also suffer loss of libido, infertility, impotence, cramps, joint pain etc. Most obvious treatment of this problem is by changing the food habit. It is necessary to diagnose the type of food that causes this problem and then formulating proper diet can prevent this problem.
